Dr. J. B. Danquah - Grandad

I always thought I was destined for greatness it has derived from a adventurous imagination derived from watching movies like the Goonies, indulging in Cartoons like Dungeons and Dragons, Shera etc. and Daydreaming of rescuing my school friends and becoming a heroine. Yet here I am at the age of (well lets not go there) twenty something wondering to take a risk a non calculated one at that and change my life.

You see I can't let my ambition to do something great in this world go my grandfather was one of the Founders of Ghana, a political activist whom died in Prison and the only other resemblance to his character I have is the fact that I argue about everything possible that I may go to prison, not exactly doing you proud eh grandad?

Working 9-5 doing a job that is way beneath me and only having money that jingles to spend on myself at the end of the money, after bills and taxes really irate's me at time. I totally understand why my grandad fought the government because he wasn't going to let the corrupt people in power make his life a misery but in essence at the end they still did. Yet many years later I am letting a government do the same to me and I feel absolutely helpless.   This UK government is atrocious I should be happy that they don't throw me in jail for speaking my mind however as I was born here that is my right as a British Citizen.  I should be grateful I am able to access free education but how free is it really? At what price is this freedom of speech, education and right to vote going to really cost me in the long term, I fear I am suffering some of the consequences each day, they give with one hand and take from the other.
